Its not the buffer size or bit depth. Problem persists on all settings. USB 2.0 / 3.0 Port doesnt make a difference. Problem persists in other DAW's. The updated driver is available for 2nd gen Scarlett interfaces from the downloads section of Focusrite’s website. They also have the same driver posted on the beta Focusrite website for the 1st gen Scarlett Solo, 2i2, and 2i4.

Mar 12, 2023 · Same problem here with Win 11 and Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2nd gen. Audio suddenly starts lagging behind, system wide (windows sounds, browser, skype, video files, anything). I can fix it if i change the Sample Rate in Focusrite Control or if i restart the system, but it's a temporary fix, as it is bound to happen again, eventually.

Jul 8, 2016 · The latency is much lower on the 2nd gen Scarlett interfaces so I was happy to replace the steady and reliable 1st gen 2i4 with the new 2i2. But after a couple more weeks of using the 2nd gen 2i2, I’ve come to the conclusion that the Windows drivers just aren’t ready for prime time yet, at least not with my Windows 7 computer.
Aug 7, 2016 · With the 1st gen driver, the lowest latency setting for 48kHz is 12.4 ms on my Windows 7 PC. Using the 2nd gen driver, the lowest buffer size setting for 48kHz gives just 5.1 ms of overall latency. To me it’s totally surprising that the 1st gen interfaces would work with the 2nd gen drivers. I’m sure Focusrite doesn’t want people to use
Jul 14, 2016 · Focusrite released updated drivers yesterday for their 2nd gen Scarlett USB audio interfaces. The new driver version is 4.11.0.
